Happy Birthday Grace! (finally)

Grace finally got her birthday party! She wanted a "science" themed party. So in a panic I called my friend Joy who was my Bio prof last semester. Joy saved the day! We extracted strawberry DNA, colored daisy petals, and made silly putty. The kids had a great time and some of the parents ended up staying to watch the fun. I was told by the parents of "This is the best birthday party ever!!" talk going around the table. We all had a great time! Thanks again Joy!
Getting ready for the science fun.
We put daises in colored water to look at plant respiration and watch the petals turn colors.
Strawberry mushing.
Grace waiting for her goo to filter.
Strawberry squishing.
Strawberry DNA (kinda looks like snot).

One of the parents checking out the DNA.
My friend Joy (formerly my Bio prof at Bethel) helped me pull off all the science fun. As you can see there was fun to be had by all!
Some of the parents stayed to enjoy the science fun.
Asa mixing up his silly putty. No, Zeke wasn't cold. As a part of the party we made lab coats for everyone. The word coat got him thinking and he got on his coat, and hat and mittens (we made him take off the mittens while participating in the experiments).
Mmmmmm, pizza and Kool-aid
The party crew.
Again, my friend Jen came through with an amazing cake. The cotton candy on top was nice and fluffy in the morning, but by party time the humidity had gotten to it. Still looked great though, and tasted even better!

Spring Break

This is how I spent about half of my spring break. Taking care of the boys who between the 2 of them had 2 cases of strep and one case of pneumonia. Thank you Jesus for antibiotics!

Creative Movement for Kids

Zeke playing shy and not wanting to go out and dance (oh, but he did, and had a great time.)

One of my former co-ECFE mom's had a dance class for kids. These pictures are from the parents night. Enjoy!
Supposed to be wind milling, but Zeke prefers to cheer.
Grace in free dance.
Zeke dong the chicken dance.
Grace chicken dancing.
Zeke realizes I am taking his picture.

Chicken dancing.
Free dance (in which most of the kids ran around at full speed)
Zeke likes his dance teacher Meg.

Laughable

Mustache March has hit the Howard home.
I don't know how it happened. But yes he is trying to reach it with his tongue.
Yoga!
